This investigation is frequently referred to as a CP X-ray in German. The abbreviation CP is formed by Latin terms for the heart (cor) and the lungs (pulmo).
Two images are usually taken with the patient standing. While the X-rays are being taken, it is very important that you breathe in deeply; this ensures complete visualization of the unfolded lung.
